Description
Offered here is Thumbelina by Ideal Doll Co. The doll was made in 2 sizes in 1961-62, the 14” size and this doll that is newborn life-size 20”. She was made in 1962 and has vinyl head with molded features, vinyl arms and legs and rooted saran hair. Her cloth body is firmly stuffed but there is some staining from either storage or play – see area above the right knee. The crier is still present but intermittent and sounds weak. The knob on her back ratchets, the head turns, but very slowly. She is dressed in machine knit 2 pc. baby set – pale pink with white edging, original clothing, but unlabled. She is the size of 2 mos. old baby and can wear 3-6 mos. clothing. This doll came to me from a recent estate sale and I was told she had been stored for more than 50 years.
